Well, my original plans did not work out. Instead, I went back to school. Two years later, I now have a profession that I love and allows me to write more, although it has taken me quite some time to get back to the WordPress site. In the past, I read and reviewed books by independent authors. I have left those reviews in place, but this site will take a different turn as I go forward. I decided it was more important for me to write my own stories than to review those of others.

In the past couple of years, I have submitted a few stories to the Writers of the Future contest and have received an honorable mention and a silver honorable mention for stories I submitted. Currently, I am working to turn both stories into books. I am not really a short story writer and mostly write stories that are too involved to keep them down to short story word limits. So, I am plugging away and hoping for the best. I hope to finish the first by the end of this year. Fingers crossed.

A lot has happened in the past several years, but it all turned out for the best. I learned a lot about the people I had allowed into my life, myself, and what treatment I would tolerate from others. It was a very rocky road, but I am thankful for the journey and the lessons. However, if you had asked me when it was happening, my reaction would not have been so positive. Regardless, it is time for me to follow my passion and write what I feel I must. There was little time to write for the past couple of years because of school, but I finally feel able to concentrate on things that require imagination. Time to redevelop the habit of writing regularly and this is a great place to start.

Some days I may talk about current events, others about my new profession, some days will be about what I have been through, and still others about how the writing progress is going or perhaps I will post outtakes from my stories. This is my space to write and I am trying to find my footing again to move forward.
